Mohammed Akoojee serves as the CEO & MD of DP World's sub-Saharan Africa region and is responsible for DP World's operations including ports and terminals, logistics, market access and marine services across 48 African markets, delivering annual revenue of over USD3.5 billion and employing over 27 000 people.
Sanjay Badam
Sanjay Badam is a Commercial Director for DP World, Middle East and Africa Region, Dubai. He has 3 majors made at University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom.
He has an extensive experience in ports and terminals management, having started his career at APM Terminals, where he spent 18 years. Although originally from India he has spent the last 11 years in Dubai.
Kwazi Mabaso
Kwazi Mabaso, appointed Chief Executive Officer of Grindrod Limited, effective 1 December 2025.
Kwazi stepped into this role following his successful tenure as CEO of Grindrod Terminals, where he played a pivotal role in shaping and executing some of the Group's most strategic initiatives.
With over 17 years of experience in the mining and logistics sectors, Kwazi brings a wealth of leadership expertise and a deep understanding of African markets. Before joining Grindrod in 2023, he spent a decade at Transnet, where he led major operations including the Richards Bay Terminals, NATCOR, and the Durban Container Terminal. His career began at Goldfields Limited, followed by leadership roles at ABI, where he managed national distribution and resource planning.
Kwazi holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from GIBS and recently graduated with his MBA from UKZN.

Aboobacar Adamo Mussá
Aboobacar Adamo Mussá is a Mechanical Engineer, with over 25 years of experience, 21 of which at Empresa Portos e Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique (CFM), where he worked in several sectors, with emphasis on the Maintenance of port equipment, Management and Maintenance of rolling stock and Port Management. Aboobacar Mussá was Chairman of the Rolling Stock Commission at the Southern Africa Railways Association (SARA), representing CFM (2007/2008) and Member of the African Union of Railways (UAR), representing CFM, for the Infrastructure and Material area. Before holding the position of Advisor to the Board of Directors of CFM (2017), between 2013 and 2016 he was Regional Director at RRL Grindrod and, 7 months later, Commercial and Marketing Director for the Africa Region. In 2020, he held the position of Director of the Port of Nacala and Director of the Implementation Unit of the Port of Nacala Rehabilitation Project. He is Executive Director at Empresa Portos e Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique, a position he has held since 2020, coordinating all the activities of the Executive Directorate South and supervising the Directorate of Studies and Engineering Projects and Museum of CFM.
Emídio Bata
Emídio Victor Bata, has a degree in Management and Finance, with 29 years of service in Mozambique Ports and Railways (CFM), he has worked in various areas, most notably in the railway areas of work, with an emphasis on railway operations, as Chief Traffic Manager and in the financial area as Head of the Financial Analysis.
In 2007 and 2008 he was appointed to represent CFM at the UAR (African Union of Railways) in the area of railway operations. In 2011 he represented CFM at SARA (Southern Africa Railways Association), specifically in the Goba Corridor Manager Group. From 2016 to 2017, he was appointed as Railway Director in the CFM-South and later became Head of Passenger Transport Service (2017 to 2020). From 2020 to 2023 he was appointed Executive Director of CFM-North.
He is currently Executive Director of CFM-South since October 2023.
