POLICY STATEMENT
MPDC recognises that ports play an important part in the economic, environmental and social life of the surrounding community. The combination of these three elements requires us to exercise responsibility by promoting sustainable development for the benefit of the port and the community surrounding it. MPDC will fulfil this responsibility by applying effective environmental protection policies to all port activities and operations. In particular, we are committed to develop and implement management and control methods which prevent or minimise environmental damage. These methods will be reviewed in order to ensure that we continuously improve our environmental performance. We recognise the value of communicating these objectives to staff, tenants and other people associated with the port, and are committed to a programme of regular discussions about our approach to securing a high standard of environmental management.
