MPDC delivers refurbished Pessene’s health care center

As part of its policy of social responsibility and community outreach, MPDC officially handed over the refurbished Pessene Health Centre, an investment of 7,505,060.77 Meticais that provides better working conditions and greater comfort for users and professionals at this health facility.

The ceremony was attended by the Administrator of the District of Moamba, Carlos Mussanhane, who praised the quality of the work and highlighted MPDC’s strong involvement with the communities, noting that this ‘is not a work of social responsibility, but rather of social development.’

The works included the refurbishment of the toilet blocks, tuberculosis, family planning and main block, as well as a complete overhaul of the hydraulic and electrical systems, ensuring decent and functional conditions for the entire infrastructure.

During the event, MPDC also announced the donation of hospital equipment and medicines worth around 400,000 meticais, with the aim of supporting the daily work of health professionals and improving the quality of care provided to the population

According to MPDC Human Resources Director João Cuna, the intervention in Pessene is part of a shared development vision. The company had already boosted the local economy with the construction of the Traffic Management Park in Pessene, and is now preparing to build a secondary school with capacity for around 1,000 students, which is expected to become a national benchmark for its sustainability and use of local materials.

With this new milestone, MPDC reaffirms its commitment to growing alongside communities by investing in projects that promote dignity, access to essential services and a more sustainable future for all.
