Kwazi Mabaso, appointed Chief Executive Officer of Grindrod Limited, effective 1 December 2025.
Kwazi stepped into this role following his successful tenure as CEO of Grindrod Terminals, where he played a pivotal role in shaping and executing some of the Group’s most strategic initiatives.
With over 17 years of experience in the mining and logistics sectors, Kwazi brings a wealth of leadership expertise and a deep understanding of African markets. Before joining Grindrod in 2023, he spent a decade at Transnet, where he led major operations including the Richards Bay Terminals, NATCOR, and the Durban Container Terminal. His career began at Goldfields Limited, followed by leadership roles at ABI, where he managed national distribution and resource planning.
Kwazi holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from GIBS and recently graduated with his MBA from UKZN.
