The new Customs Transit Legislation has been approved and published in the Official Gazzete. The new legislation will benefit most of the Port of Maputo’s hinterland clients, as about 80% of the total cargoes handled are transit cargoes.
The main changes are that bonds are now calculated based on the 35 % of Customs revenues risk, bulk mineral cargos are bond exempted as well as transshipments.
