The Port of Maputo will become the first port in Mozambique to host a music festival, to receive Morejazz Series which is now in its fourth edition. It is an initiative of More Promotions Ltd, supported by the Port of Maputo, in line with the strategy of the port to promote greater integration with the capital city.

The festival will be held on August 23 at Cabotage Terminal and all security conditions are assured for the festival to be an absolute success. In addition to large national and international names in jazz (still to be announced), the festival will feature the first public presentation of MoreJazz Big Band. The Mozambique MoreJazz Big Band (Orchestra) is the product MorePromotions Ltd, a company representative artist Moreira Chonguiça. The project, launched in April 2014, is a new concept created by himself, as an extension of MoreJazz Series but in the field of training/teaching. The aim of the Big Band MoreJazz from children and youth in music as well as introduce them the concept of musical science.

The Port of Maputo has supported various initiatives in the areas of culture and education. By hosting a festival of this nature, and in an unprecedented location as our port, we believe that we will be promoting the culture in Mozambique and simultaneously approaching people of this important heritage and pole of economic development that is the Port of Maputoexplained the in charge of Communication and Image of the Port of Maputo, Soraia Abdula.

The highlights for the show in cabotage terminal are big names of African music as the singer and UNICEF ambassador Angelique Kidjo, Philip Mukenga, John Hassan, Timothy Cush, Valter Mabasso, Stélio Mondlane and Yoca.
