One of main areas of MPDC’s Corporate Social Responsibility Programme is the investment in education. Besides an internal training programme, MPDC has been trying to select some external education projects which contribute for the country’s development.
It was on this context that in November a laptop was donated to the Signal Language Training Center – Deaf Educational Project – and six computers were given to ISTEG (The Institute for Superior Studies in Technology and Management).
The Signal Language Training Center has the objective of improving the quality of life of the deaf community, training interprets in sign language. On the other hand, ISTEG, located in Belo Horizonte, has been training several Mozambican youngsters, counting now on more than 2000 students. The computers donated by MPDC will be part of a study room and will be a precious tool in the training of the future professionals of Mozambique. Besides that, they will also aid in the search for adequate solutions to the Boane province, as ISTEG participates in development studies.
