MPDC supports Road Safety Education campaign in Maputo

As part of its commitment to sustainable development and community safety, MPDC has joined forces with Maputo Municipal Council and the Maputo City Forum – Maputo Citizens Movement in the Road Safety Education Campaign, launched on 6 October.

The initiative, which also has the support of FIDES, INDICO Seguros, TVM, Rádio Moçambique and DALIMA, has as its main objective to promote awareness among drivers of good driving practices, contributing to the reduction of accidents and the improvement of traffic flow in the city of Maputo.

Lasting eight consecutive weeks, the campaign includes awareness-raising activities at 10 strategic intersections in the city, street performances, distribution of information materials, dissemination of videos and advertising spots, and educational messages on digital billboards. Each week will be dedicated to a specific theme, addressing risky behaviour and exemplary attitudes behind the wheel.

The artistic component is being handled by the TP50 group, which is mobilising around 30 artists in creative and educational interventions, in close collaboration with the Municipal Police, the Maputo City Traffic Command and the Department of Mobility, Transport and Traffic.

For MPDC, supporting this initiative means investing in the safety, civic-mindedness and well-being of the people who are part of the urban dynamics of Maputo, a city that welcomes and inspires port activities.

More than just sponsorship, this support reflects the company’s commitment to safer and more responsible mobility, in line with the vision of a port integrated into a more conscious, humane and sustainable city.
